Paul George Returns to the Court with the 76ers
Philadelphia, PA – In an exciting match that kept fans on the edge of their seats, Paul George made his expected return to action with the 76ers, after an absence that extended from March due to a left knee injury.
The player expressed his satisfaction after the match, where the 76ers achieved a comeback victory over the Clippers with a score of 110-108.
George, who underwent surgery in July, played in five-minute intervals in each quarter, demonstrating his commitment and adaptability on the court.
Despite the inactivity, George showed flashes of his ability, scoring nine points and grabbing seven rebounds in 21 minutes of play.
It felt great, after eight months off the courts.
The 76ers’ forward, who signed a maximum four-year, $212 million contract in July 2024, expressed his joy at returning to play.
George, who had an impressive start with a three-pointer and two free throws, showed flashes of his potential, although he acknowledged the need to regain his game rhythm.
76ers coach Nick Nurse commented on the possibility of increasing George’s minutes, depending on his physical condition and his body’s response.
In the game, Tyrese Maxey led the 76ers with 39 points, while James Harden, with 28 points for the Clippers, failed to convert his attempts in the final moments.
The head referee, Curtis Blair, explained that no foul was called on Harden’s three-point attempt, arguing that Quentin Grimes’ defense was legal.
On the other hand, Joel Embiid, 76ers star, missed his fourth consecutive game due to a right knee injury.
Coach Nurse indicated that Embiid could be close to returning, but he is still not completely pain-free.
Kelly Oubre Jr., who suffered a knee injury, did not participate in the game and his condition is still under evaluation.
