Scottie Scheffler Seeks Victory at the Charles Schwab Challenge After Triumph at the PGA Championship
Following his recent victory at the PGA Championship, Scottie Scheffler is preparing for the Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial, adjusting his usual routine.
The world number one, although prioritizing rest and recovery, makes it clear that his goal is to compete.
I didn’t come to Fort Worth just to stroll around and celebrate last week. I’m here for a reason, and it’s not just to play a couple of ceremonial rounds and then leave. I’m here to compete.

Scheffler, after his third major, seeks to become the first player since Dustin Johnson in 2017 to win three consecutive PGA Tour tournaments.
Previously, Scheffler won the CJ Cup Byron Nelson in his hometown, Dallas, and then prevailed at the PGA Championship.
Although the Colonial doesn’t have the same meaning for Scheffler as the Nelson, which he attended as a child, playing in Texas, near his family and friends, is special.
I think any time I can sleep in my own bed and play a golf tournament, it’s a good thing. I love the golf course here. I think it’s a great test. That’s also one of the main reasons I try to come to this event every year, just for the golf course.

This is the fourth time Scheffler has had the opportunity to achieve three consecutive victories since 2022. Furthermore, he has reached a significant milestone by joining Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods as the only players with 15 victories before turning 29 years old.
In 2017, Johnson achieved his winning streak at the Genesis Invitational, the WGC-Mexico Championship, and the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play.
Upon returning to his home state, a soccer enthusiast, Scheffler was asked if his emotional reaction after winning the PGA was his version of a soccer celebration.
When I played football, I didn’t score a lot of touchdowns, so I didn’t have a lot of experience in that. I really don’t have much to say about it. I think I just let my emotions get the best of me a little bit, and I guess that’s where my brain decided it wanted to go at that point. I really don’t have absolutely any explanation for it.

Only one player has celebrated on the 18th hole of the Byron Nelson and Colonial in the same year: Hogan in 1946.
