Twins Complete Sweep of Orioles with Offensive Explosion

The Minnesota Twins demonstrated their offensive power by completing a sweep over the Baltimore Orioles this Wednesday, sealing the victory with an exciting game that kept fans on the edge of their seats.

The climax came in the eighth inning, when Kody Clemens hit a three-run home run, giving the Twins the decisive lead. This home run was crucial in securing the 8-6 victory.

The victory extended the Twins’ winning streak to 10 games, the longest of the season in Major League Baseball. So far in 2024, the team had already demonstrated its ability to stay on top, with a streak of 12 consecutive wins.

The game remained close until the end. The Orioles, after trailing 4-0, managed to score six runs in the third inning, thanks in large part to a grand slam by Cedric Mullins and a solo home run by Heston Kjerstad.

However, the Twins’ offense didn’t give up. Willi Castro started the eighth inning with a single, stole second base, and advanced to third on a balk by Yennier Cano. After a walk to Royce Lewis, Clemens, with a batting average of .179 so far this year, hit a shot that went to right field, putting Minnesota ahead.

Kody Funderburk earned the win in relief, while Cole Sands secured the game with a perfect ninth, earning his first save of the season.

In the first game of the doubleheader, the Twins rallied from a 3-0 deficit, fueled by a three-run homer from Christian Vazquez in the fourth inning. Trevor Larnach also contributed with a run-scoring double in the ninth inning.

Twins outfielder Harrison Bader had to leave the game with left groin discomfort, while first baseman Ty France did not play after exiting the first game with a foot issue.

For the final game of the series, Tomoyuki Sugano (4-2) will take the mound for the Orioles against Chris Paddack (1-3) of the Twins.
