Hansi Flick, Suspended for the Clásico
FC Barcelona coach Hansi Flick will not be able to lead his team in the next Clásico against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium. This is due to a one-match suspension imposed by the Disciplinary Committee of the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF).
The sanction stems from his expulsion in the match against Girona, corresponding to the last matchday of LaLiga. Flick was cautioned twice for protesting refereeing decisions.
The Catalan club presented allegations to try to annul the sanction, arguing inconsistencies in the referee’s report. However, the Committee dismissed this request, indicating that Barcelona did not provide evidence to refute the facts described in the report. Therefore, the sanction is maintained, according to article 120 of the Disciplinary Code.Other Disciplinary Sanctions
In addition to Flick, defender Allan Nyom (Getafe) was suspended for two matches due to violent conduct in an action against Vinicius Jr. during the match against Real Madrid.
Álex Sancris, also from Getafe, received a suspension date after being sent off for two yellow cards.
The Committee also imposed a one-match ban on defender Carl Starfelt (Celta de Vigo) for his red card against Real Sociedad and fined Villarreal CF for minor disturbances during their last league match.
Finally, the warnings to coaches José Bordalás (Getafe) and Eder Sarabia (Elche) were ratified.
With this decision, Barcelona will have to face the Clásico without their main coach on the bench, in a match that could be crucial for the club’s aspirations in the 2025-2026 season.
