Sei Young Kim Crowned Champion at the BMW Ladies Championship
LPGA Tour veteran Sei Young Kim showcased her skills on the course by securing the victory at the BMW Ladies Championship. Kim, with a final round of 67 strokes, outplayed her competitors and took the title with a four-stroke lead.
This triumph marks the thirteenth title of her career since she joined the tour in 2015, ending a five-year winless streak, since the Women’s PGA Championship in 2020.
The 32-year-old South Korean golfer completed the tournament with a total of 24 under par, with a cumulative score of 264 strokes at the Pine Beach Golf Links course. Kim only made one mistake on the 3rd hole, but recovered with six birdies in the rest of the round, keeping her closest rival, Nasa Hataoka, at bay.
Hataoka, from Japan, also had a final round of 67 strokes, finishing with a total of 20 under par (268 strokes). Celine Boutier (67) and Kim A-lim (66) were two strokes behind, sharing third place.
Defending champion Hannah Green carded a 66 and finished at 17-under par (271 strokes), tying for fifth place with Yealimi Noh of the United States (70). Lindy Duncan, also of the United States, finished one stroke behind, tied for seventh place with South Koreans Choi Hye-jin (63) and An Na-rin (63).
Last week, Jeeno Thitikul became the first player with multiple wins on the LPGA Tour this season, after defeating Minami Katsu in a five-hole playoff in Shanghai. Thitikul did not participate in this tournament, but will be part of the Thai team at the International Crown next week.
After the International Crown, two more LPGA events will be held on the Asian tour, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and in Japan.
