Sei Young Kim Wins the BMW Ladies Championship

Seasoned golfer Sei Young Kim, with a decade of experience on the LPGA Tour, clinched victory at the BMW Ladies Championship after a final round of 67 strokes. Kim demonstrated her skill on the course, securing her win with a four-stroke lead over her competitors. This is title number 13 in Kim’s career since she joined the circuit in 2015, marking the end of a five-year winless streak, since her triumph at the Women’s PGA Championship in 2020. Kim, 32, finished the tournament with a score of 24 under par, with a total of 264 strokes in the four rounds played at the Pine Beach Golf Links, on the Korean peninsula. The South Korean golfer only made one mistake on the 3rd hole, but then reacted with six birdies to keep her main rival, Nasa Hataoka, at bay. Hataoka, from Japan, also signed a final round of 67 strokes, finishing with a total of 20 under par and 268 strokes. Celine Boutier and Kim A-lim shared third place, two strokes behind, with rounds of 67 and 66 strokes respectively. The defending champion, Hannah Green, completed the competition with a round of 66 strokes, finishing in fifth place with a total of 17 under par and 271 strokes, tied with Yealimi Noh. Lindy Duncan finished one stroke behind, tied for seventh place with South Koreans Choi Hye-jin and An Na-rin, who achieved the lowest round of the day with 63 strokes. Jeeno Thitikul, who last week became the first player with multiple wins on the LPGA Tour this season, did not participate in this tournament, but will be part of the Thailand team at the International Crown next week. After the International Crown, the LPGA’s Asian circuit will continue with two more events in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and in Japan.
