Sei Young Kim Wins the BMW Ladies Championship

Seasoned golfer Sei Young Kim, with a decade of experience on the LPGA Tour, clinched victory at the BMW Ladies Championship after an impressive final round of 67 strokes.

This triumph represents the 13th title in Kim’s career since her tour debut in 2015, and ends a five-year winless streak, since her victory at the Women’s PGA Championship in 2020.

Kim, 32, completed the tournament with a score of 24 under par, with a total of 264 strokes at the Pine Beach Golf Links course, located on the Korean peninsula. The South Korean golfer only made one mistake on the third hole, but achieved six birdies in the rest of the round, keeping her closest competitor, Nasa Hataoka, at bay.

Hataoka, from Japan, also signed a final round of 67 strokes, finishing with a total of 20 under par, with 268 strokes. Celine Boutier and Kim A-lim shared third place, two strokes away, with rounds of 67 and 66 strokes respectively.

Defending champion Hannah Green shot a round of 66 and finished in fifth place, with a total of 17 under par, tied with Yealimi Noh. Lindy Duncan was one stroke behind, sharing seventh place with South Koreans Choi Hye-jin and An Na-rin, who achieved the best round of the day, both with 63 strokes.

The previous week, Jeeno Thitikul became the first player with multiple victories on the LPGA Tour this season, after winning a five-hole playoff in Shanghai against Minami Katsu. Thitikul did not participate in this tournament, but will be part of the Thai team at the International Crown next week.

After the International Crown, the LPGA’s Asian circuit will continue with two more events, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and in Japan.
