Rodman and Shaw Return to the US Women’s National Team
Forwards Trinity Rodman and midfielder Jaedyn Shaw have been called up to the United States women’s national team for the first time since April. Coach Emma Hayes announced the 26-player roster for the matches against Portugal and New Zealand, which will begin next week.
Rodman, who missed the last two training camps and friendlies due to a recurring back injury, played his last international match in April, scoring a goal in the 2-0 victory over Brazil.

Since Hayes took office in May 2024, 24 players have debuted for the national team.
We are very excited to be reunited with the team. There has been a big gap from July until now and we have watched many club matches. Now it’s time to start building for the 2027 World Cup qualification. We want to maximize every minute we have together, push the players and maintain momentum.

The USWNT’s last match was over three months ago, in a 3-0 victory over Canada.
In addition to Rodman and Shaw, Kennedy Wesley, defender for the San Diego Wave, has also been called up for the first time. Wesley, 24, has represented the United States in several youth categories.
Five players who play in Europe return to the roster after Hayes gave them a break in the summer: Lindsey Heaps, Catarina Macario, Lily Yohannes, Emily Fox, and Phallon Tullis-Joyce.

USWNT vice-captain and Chelsea defender Naomi Girma remains out with a calf injury, while forward Lynn Biyendolo is also sidelined with a knee injury.
Also absent from the previous call-up are goalkeeper Angelina Anderson; defenders Kerry Abello, Izzy Rodriguez, and Gisele Thompson; and midfielder Croix Bethune.
