Guardiola Calls This Season the Most Difficult
Pep Guardiola, Manchester City’s coach, has acknowledged that the current season has been the most complicated of his coaching career.
The team has fought to maintain the high level that led it to win four consecutive league titles, a record.
El City se alejó de la lucha por la Premier League al principio de la campaña y fue eliminado de la Champions League por el Real Madrid en la primera ronda eliminatoria.
They can still end the season with a trophy if they beat Crystal Palace in the FA Cup and are on track to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
It has been the most difficult season, that’s for sure. It has been more demanding. Much more. When you don’t win it’s more demanding emotionally, in preparation and in moods and in everything.

Guardiola, who has also managed Barcelona and Bayern Munich in his 17 years as a coach, says that this season will be remembered as the toughest of his career.
Guardiola has signed a contract to remain at the Etihad Stadium until 2027.
The 54-year-old coach has won 12 league titles in three countries, in addition to lifting the Champions League three times. However, he insists that he still has something to prove next season, as he tries to regain the title.
We have to prove it every time. When I hear players say what I’ve done in my career, I have nothing to prove. Completely wrong. They should retire. When it’s done, it’s done. People pay for tickets to come to the stadium and do it every time. I had to prove it over and over again. And I get disappointed when things don’t go well. When I retire, I will review my career. But right now, in the next game I have to prove it. So life doesn’t live on memories.
