Monarchs 2015 win the title in the Armed Forces softball tournament
The Monarchs-2015 were crowned champions of the XIV softball tournament of Academic Officers of the Armed Forces and the National Police, after defeating the Immortals 2003 in two games. The first encounter, held at the Hipólito Ureña stadium of the Dominican Air Force, culminated in a victory for the Monarcas with a score of 10-3. Eudalys Pérez was the winning pitcher, while Julio Rodríguez took the loss. Pérez, in 6.0 innings, allowed three runs, seven hits, one home run, two strikeouts, and two walks. In the second game, the Monarchs secured the championship with a 14-7 victory, driven by 14 hits. Eudalys Pérez again claimed the victory, this time as a reliever, and Julio Rodríguez suffered his second defeat. Carlos Ramírez stood out on offense, with three hits in three at-bats, three runs scored and six RBIs, including a triple and two home runs.In the first game, Carlos Ramírez hit a home run and a single, Pedro Bidó also contributed with a home run, Yabel Blando and Junior Medina hit doubles, and Melvin Quezada and Franklin Díaz added singles. In the second game, Raumely Ozuna hit three singles, Junior Medina a home run and a single, and José Colón two singles.“Those supports ensured that today we are delivering these trophies, won on the field by you, soldier-athletes, who competed and shared in each of the matches scheduled by Lisoa, matches where, in addition to the celebration for the triumph at the end of each day, the brotherhood and camaraderie between friendly soldiers was always present,” said Colonel Batista.
