SANTO DOMINGO – The National Baseball Commissioner, Junior Noboa, officially handed over the national flag to the team that will represent the Dominican Republic in the Viejas Glorias National Baseball Championship.The event, which will take place in Florida, United States, will bring together more than 30 teams of various nationalities.Noboa expressed his confidence that the Dominican delegation will leave an indelible mark on the tournament, raising the name of the country.
The championship will be held from the 19th to the 25th of this month.The Dominican team, with an impressive record of 22 championships in 46 tournaments, will seek to add a new title to its record.In addition to the flag delivery, the commissioner’s direction will provide sports equipment for the team’s participation in the event, where the Larimar City Cup will be played.The entourage that will accompany the team is made up of leader Jovanny Pichardo, former Major League pitcher Sandy Nin, and players Lluberes and Danny Montero, brothers of Detroit Tigers pitcher Rafael Montero.The matches will be played at the Kissimmee training fields.We are confident that this team will make our national anthem’s notes ring out in this Oldies tournament.
