The Scottish golf course owned by former United States President Donald Trump will host a European tour tournament in August.
Trump International Golf Links Scotland will host the Scottish Championship from August 7 to 10, after being added to the 2025 calendar by the circuit.
The course in Aberdeen is one of two that Trump owns in Scotland. The other is Trump Turnberry, one of the 10 courses that rotate to host the British Open, the oldest of the four major men’s golf championships, but it has not hosted that event since 2009.
It will be the first time that Trump International hosts an event on the European circuit, although the course has been used for a veterans’ circuit tournament in 2023 and 2024, and will do so again this year, the week before the Scottish Championship.
Organizing consecutive events at Trump International marks a significant milestone.

The Scottish Championship was last played on the European Tour in October 2020.
Trump’s courses also host events from the LIV golf circuit, a dissident circuit.
The R&A, which organizes the British Opens, has cited logistical and infrastructure problems as the main factor behind the lack of awarding the major to Turnberry since 2009.
In 2021, then R&A CEO Martin Slumbers said that the Open would not return to Turnberry “until we are convinced that the focus will be on the championship, the players and the course itself and we do not believe that is feasible in the current circumstances,” perhaps a reference to Trump’s ownership of the course.
However, the R&A’s stance appears to have softened under the leadership of newly hired CEO Mark Darbon, who said last month that his organization was “doing some feasibility work” regarding a possible return to Turnberry.
Trump International, in the north of Scotland, has a panoramic view of the offshore wind turbines not far from Aberdeen beach.
The Scottish government’s approval of the wind farm angered Trump because he considered the turbines “unsightly” and spoiling the views from his nearby luxury golf resort.
