Usyk Challenges Jake Paul: “I’ll Wait for You in the Cage”

The undisputed heavyweight world champion, Oleksandr Usyk, has issued a warning to Jake Paul, stating that he will be “waiting for him in the cage” when the YouTuber-turned-boxer dares to face him after his retirement from boxing. Paul, who defeated Mike Tyson on points in an eight-round fight and then beat Julio César Chávez Jr. in June, is scheduled to face WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis in an exhibition match in November, which will be broadcast on Netflix. The 28-year-old influencer recently shared his ambitious future plans on social media, which include becoming a world boxing champion, defeating Usyk, winning an Oscar, “fighting on the moon,” and starting a presidential campaign. After Usyk defeated Daniel Dubois for the second time at Wembley in July, they both met in the ring. Usyk responded to Paul’s five-year plan with a strong message.

“Good plan, Jake Paul, but I’m not here for fifth place, only for first. I’ll soon close the book on boxing, and after that, I’ll be waiting for you in the cage. Let’s see if you have the balls or just a hunger for publicity.”

Usyk, who is recovering from a back problem, is expected to fight Joseph Parker and Fabio Wardley in his next title defense. After his response to Paul, the Ukrainian posted a video of his training to highlight his dedication to boxing.

“I have no motivation. I have discipline. That’s why I’m a champion. I believe this with all my heart. It carries me through the ring, through life, through every challenge. That’s why I keep going. Take this with you.”
