In an exciting match, Carlos Alcaraz managed to secure his place in the final of the Monte Carlo Masters after defeating his Spanish compatriot Alejandro Davidovich Fokina with a score of 7-6 (2), 6-4. The match, played on Saturday, required six match points for Alcaraz to seal his victory.

This victory marks the 23rd final at the tournament level for the tennis player, currently ranked third in the world ranking. In the final, Alcaraz will face the Italian Lorenzo Musetti, thus seeking his first title in Monte Carlo.

During the first set, Alcaraz gained an initial advantage, but Davidovich Fokina showed resilience by saving three set points, which forced a tiebreak.

For his part, Musetti, ranked 13th, secured his place in the final after defeating Alex de Minaur with a score of 1-6, 6-4, 7-6 (4) in the semifinal. The Italian had an outstanding performance, as he previously eliminated the defending champion, Stefanos Tsitsipas, in the quarterfinals.

Due to the forecast of heavy rain, Sunday’s final has been brought forward three hours from the originally scheduled time.

This will be Alcaraz’s third consecutive clay court final, following his achievements at the French Open and the silver medal won at the Paris Olympics last year.
