WrestleMania Expands: Saudi Arabia to Host the Event in 2027
In an unprecedented milestone, WrestleMania, the pinnacle event of professional wrestling, will venture outside of North America for the first time in its history. The city of Riyadh, in Saudi Arabia, will host “The Showcase of the Immortals” in 2027, as part of the “Riyadh Season”, according to WWE’s announcement on Friday. Since its launch in 1985, WrestleMania had been held exclusively in North American cities. The idea of taking the company’s biggest event internationally had been anticipated by Paul “Triple H” Levesque, WWE’s Chief Content Officer, and is now materializing.The official announcement comes a few days after Turki Alalshikh, chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, revealed the news via a live Snapchat video, which has already been deleted.This is an opportunity to show the world that WWE is a global brand that reaches every corner of the planet and excites fans everywhere.

WWE’s collaboration with Saudi Arabia has been in effect since 2018, with a one billion dollar deal spanning ten years and the celebration of multiple events in the country.
