Stacy Lewis Announces Retirement from the LPGA Tour

American golfer Stacy Lewis, a two-time major champion and former world number one, has announced that the 2025 season will be her last on the LPGA Tour. At 40 years old, Lewis shared the news through a social media post, expressing that his body has indicated that it is time to end his career.

“I never would have imagined that this golf journey would continue until 2025, but the time has come to put away the clubs,” Lewis wrote.

Lewis’s career in professional golf is full of achievements. After a distinguished career at the University of Arkansas, Lewis joined the LPGA Tour in 2009. Throughout her career, she earned 13 victories, including titles at the 2011 Kraft Nabisco Championship and the 2013 Women’s British Open, both considered majors. In addition, Lewis was recognized as the LPGA Tour Player of the Year on two occasions (2012 and 2014) and currently holds the number 14 position on the all-time money list, with more than 14 million dollars accumulated in 374 events. Lewis was part of four Solheim Cup teams as a player and later captained the team that defeated Europe in September 2024.

“I have taken care of the LPGA Tour as if it were my own child and I am very proud of the progress we have made, but to my fellow players, we are not finished!”, she wrote. “I hope you all continue to push the tour and do everything you can to help on and off the course”.
