Hecher Sosa Wins UFC Contract After Heartbreaking Family Tragedy
Spanish bantamweight Hecher Sosa secured a contract with the UFC on “Dana White’s Contender Series” on Tuesday, just 72 hours after the death of his father. Sosa (14-1) defeated Mackson Lee (9-1) by unanimous decision in the main event of “Contender Series” in Las Vegas. The 30-year-old fighter decided to go ahead with the fight despite receiving the news of his father’s death on Sunday morning, who suffered from cancer. Sosa lost his sister to the same disease a year ago.The native of Arrecife, Spain, revealed that he was informed of his father’s death while in the process of cutting weight for the 135-pound fight.I can’t speak with my father today, but he is the reason why I am here. He is the reason why I am the man I am, and I will continue to represent him.
