Goosen Crowned at the Sanford International: Fourth Champions Title!

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Retief Goosen secured the victory at the Sanford International this Sunday, marking his fourth win on the PGA Tour Champions. Goosen signed a final round of 67 strokes, three under par, securing a two-stroke lead over Bo Van Pelt.

The 56-year-old South African golfer completed the tournament with a score of 13 under par, totaling 197 strokes at the Minnehaha Country Club. This victory represents Goosen’s first triumph since March 2024, when he won The Galleri Classic. Goosen is known for his victories in the U.S. Open in 2001 and 2004.

Bo Van Pelt finished the tournament with a score of 68 strokes.

Ernie Els and Darren Clarke shared third place, both with a cumulative score of 8 under par. Miguel Angel Jiménez, leader of the Charles Schwab Cup, was in 7 under par after a round of 71.

Steve Stricker, who underwent back surgery, was unable to defend his title. Stricker hopes to return to the PGA Tour Champions in December.

Stricker had won the tournament in the previous three years and has four victories since the tournament began in 2018.
