49ers: Kittle to Injured Reserve, Jennings Avoids Serious Injury and Moody Cut
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for an intense period with four games in the next 23 days. In this context, the team has made significant moves in its roster. Tight end George Kittle has been placed on the injured list due to a hamstring injury suffered during the first half of Sunday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks. Kittle will be out for the upcoming games against the New Orleans Saints, Arizona Cardinals, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Los Angeles Rams. Kittle’s earliest possible return would be for the October 12 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. On the other hand, wide receiver Jauan Jennings received positive news after undergoing tests on his left shoulder. The results ruled out a serious injury, placing him as day-to-day with a chance to play next Sunday against the Saints. In addition, the 49ers have signed wide receiver Kendrick Bourne to a one-year contract. Regarding the kicker position, the 49ers have cut Jake Moody after he missed a field goal and suffered a blocked attempt against Seattle. The team is signing veteran Eddy Pineiro to a one-year contract. With Kittle out, the 49ers have Luke Farrell and Jake Tonges, and could use Kyle Juszczyk at tight end. Brayden Willis, who is on the practice squad, is also an option. Kittle left Sunday’s game with 10:06 remaining in the second quarter. He had made four receptions for 25 yards and a touchdown. Moody, selected in the third round of the 2023 draft, had an inconsistent performance in San Francisco, and the team has decided to look for other options. When they tell me a few weeks, it’s always a possibility. To do it, it has to be a four-week injury.
