The 2025 Club World Cup, which crowned Chelsea as champion, has been a resounding success, reaching a global audience of 2.7 billion viewers and gathering 2.5 million people in the stadiums. This was reported by FIFA this Tuesday. The inaugural edition of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 captured the attention of fans worldwide, according to preliminary data. Nielsen Sports estimates that around 2.7 billion people followed the tournament through various media. In Brazil, more than 131 million people tuned in to the tournament on television, representing 62% of the country’s population. Furthermore, 60% of Portugal’s population followed the tournament at some point, while around 50% of the populations of Spain and Italy also joined the audience. Regarding specific matches, the round of 16 encounter between Manchester City and Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia reached a 77.9% television audience share in Saudi Arabia. The Boca Juniors-Benfica match was watched by more than 9.1 million people in Argentina, achieving an audience rating of 84.2%, the highest in the country since the 2023 CONMEBOL Libertadores final.The tournament featured the exclusive and free broadcast of the DAZN platform. The FIFA Club World Cup 2025 was held from June 14 to July 13 in the United States. It was the first edition with a renewed format, including 32 teams and taking place every four years.
