Esther González: The NWSL, one of the strongest women’s leagues in the world

The outstanding Spanish footballer Esther González, currently a figure in the NWSL, has expressed her conviction about the strength and competitiveness of this American league. After her arrival at Gotham FC in 2023, from Real Madrid, González has been impressed by the level of play and the quality she observes in the competition.

“I am sure that this league is one of the strongest. It is not easy to come and play here, and that shows that you have to prepare a lot, both physically and mentally.”

“I think we are also in that moment now, maybe in the standings, in some games we didn’t have the ability to win and get the points, and that’s why we are now struggling a bit to get into the playoffs, but we are confident that we will achieve it. We are working hard to make that happen and also to try to be in those games and try to win them.”
