The news was confirmed by the Chief Operating Officer, Lic. Alfredo Acebal Rizek, who highlighted the importance of the hiring for the team.

“We have been consistently working hard on building a good team for next season and the hiring of Caleb Smith is part of the plan, to have a left-handed starter who can be available early on”

Smith, a 34-year-old American, has a six-season career in the Major Leagues and recently participated in the Mexican baseball league. The executive also added:

“The idea is to have a good rotation of starters, which includes one or two left-handers, so we will continue looking for the necessary pieces to join the core of natives who have also been there since day one to compete”
