Kyle Bradish Returns to the Mound: Hope for the Orioles in 2025

BALTIMORE – Pitcher Kyle Bradish is set for his 2025 debut with the Orioles. His return, though late for the current season, offers a glimmer of hope for the team’s future. Bradish, who hasn’t pitched in a Major League game since June 2024, underwent Tommy John surgery that same month. Since then, he has worked hard to regain his form, and his performance will be tested in his next start against the Boston Red Sox at Camden Yards.

“Obviously, it has been very miserable not being able to help us this year and see how things have gone,” commented interim manager Tony Mansolino.

In 2023, Bradish had an outstanding season with a 12-7 record and a 2.83 ERA, earning him fourth place in the American League Cy Young Award voting. Before entering the injured list last season, he already had a 2-0 record. The absence of Bradish and Grayson Rodriguez at the start of the 2025 season, along with injuries to other key pitchers like Tyler Wells, Zach Eflin, and Felix Bautista, affected the Orioles’ performance. However, Bradish’s return could be a positive factor for the upcoming season.

“The confidence of having a regular offseason,” Mansolino said. “When players go through injuries, there’s a lot of doubt. Will you be good enough when you come back? Well, he’ll answer the question for himself in the next month.”
