Frank Nazar Secures His Future with the Blackhawks

The Chicago Blackhawks have reached an agreement with forward Frank Nazar for a seven-year contract extension worth $46.13 million. The official announcement was made by the team this Thursday. The agreement establishes an impact of $6.59 million on the salary cap for the 2026-27 NHL season, extending until 2033. Nazar, who played between the ages of 20 and 21, accumulated 26 points in 53 games last season. His performance was key to the United States winning the world hockey championship for the first time since 1933, and he was invited to the Olympic orientation camp later this month, as a possible participant in Milan.

Frank elevated his game last season and has proven to be one of the most outstanding young talents in the league. He drives the game with his speed and playmaking skills, generating problems for opponents and opportunities for his teammates every night. Frank is a fundamental piece of our team, and we are delighted to have him with us for the next eight seasons.

Kyle Davidson, General Manager
Nazar is expected to be a key piece in Chicago’s long-term future, along with the player selected at number 1 in 2023, Connor Bedard, and young defenseman Artyom Levshunov.
