Atlanta Braves Release Erick Fedde
Atlanta – The Atlanta Braves have made the decision to release veteran right-handed pitcher Erick Fedde, according to recent reports. The news comes less than a month after the team acquired him from the St. Louis Cardinals.
The move occurred on Sunday, marking a significant change in the team’s pitching rotation.
Fedde, 32, was acquired by the Braves on July 27, coming from the Cardinals, in exchange for cash or a player to be named later.
In his five appearances with Atlanta, including four starts, Fedde had a 1-2 record with an 8.10 ERA.
In general, in his 25 games combined with St. Louis and Atlanta, Fedde has a 4-12 record with a 5.76 ERA.
Before Sunday’s game against the New York Mets, the Braves called up right-handed pitchers Wander Suero and Hunter Stratton.
In addition, left-handed pitcher Aaron Bummer was placed on the 15-day injured list due to inflammation in his left shoulder. Bummer has a 3-2 record with a 3.81 ERA in 42 games.
