Spencer Rattler to Lead Saints in Final Preseason Game

In a strategic move, the New Orleans Saints have confirmed that Spencer Rattler will be the starting quarterback in their next preseason game against the Denver Broncos. The decision was announced by coach Kellen Moore, who highlighted Rattler’s good performance in training and previous games.

He did a good job. We rotated last week, we’ll rotate again this week, the goal is for all three to play.

After Rattler, Tyler Shough will take the reins of the team, followed by Jake Haener. Moore clarified that this rotation is not indicative of who will be the starting quarterback during the regular season. The team plans to give playing time to as many starters as possible against the Broncos. Key players like Erik McCoy and Alvin Kamara have yet to participate in the preseason. This will be Rattler’s second preseason start, who also started in the first game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Shough, for his part, was the starting quarterback in last Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Moore has reiterated that the permanent starter will not be announced until after the game against the Broncos, maintaining the expectation within the team.

Our goal is not to put a deadline on this. When it’s ready, it will be and we will move forward. We are patient and we will be fine.

Although there is no set date for the announcement, Moore assured that they will not keep the decision secret until the start of the regular season.
