The St. Louis Blues have announced the addition of experienced forward Milan Lucic, 37, who will seek a place on the team through a tryout.

Lucic, with a distinguished career in the NHL, was part of the Boston Bruins team that won the Stanley Cup in 2011. He has also played for the Kings, Oilers and Flames, before returning to the Bruins in 2023.

In his last season, Lucic recorded two assists in four games before suffering an ankle injury that kept him out of action for a long period.

Subsequently, he was involved in a domestic incident. Although he was arrested on suspicion of assault and battery against a family member, the charges were dropped because his wife refused to testify.

After the incident, Lucic entered the league’s Player Assistance Program. The Blues report that he has completed the program and has been reinstated by the NHL.

Over his 17 seasons in the NHL, Lucic has accumulated 233 goals, 353 assists, and 1,301 penalty minutes.

His best season was in 2010-11, where he scored 32 goals and 30 assists. In addition, he was key in the first-round series against the Canadiens, assisting on the winning goal in overtime of the seventh game, which helped the Bruins win their most recent Stanley Cup title.
