San Francisco de Macorís – The Gigantes del Cibao announce the incorporation of right-handed pitcher Daniel Mengden as their second imported player for the upcoming season, which will begin on October 15 in the Dominican Republic.

Daniel Mengden, a seasoned 32-year-old pitcher, boasts a distinguished career in professional baseball. The player has six seasons of experience in the Major Leagues, from 2016 to 2020 with the Oakland Athletics and in 2022 with the Kansas City Royals.Mengden has extended his career internationally, participating in leagues in South Korea, Taiwan, and Mexico. In his time in the Major Leagues, Mengden accumulated more than 300 innings pitched, achieving 17 victories and surpassing 230 strikeouts. In the 2023 season with the Tecos de Dos Laredos, Mengden had an 8-5 record with an ERA of 4.00 in 17 starts.
