UFC Returns to Chicago with a Stellar Card
The UFC returns to Chicago for the first time since 2019, presenting a pay-per-view (PPV) card that promises strong emotions. The main event will be a middleweight championship fight between the current champion, Dricus Du Plessis, and the number 2 ranked contender, Khamzat Chimaev.
This matchup marks only the third time in UFC history that both fighters enter the bout with winning streaks of at least eight consecutive victories. Du Plessis holds nine straight wins, while Chimaev has accumulated eight.
A victory for Du Plessis would grant him his fourth successful title defense, tying for fourth place historically for a UFC middleweight. On the other hand, if Chimaev prevails, he would become the third undefeated champion in the category.
Before the highly anticipated duel between Du Plessis and Chimaev, former Bellator MMA champion Aaron Pico will make his UFC debut, facing undefeated featherweight Lerone Murphy.
The card also includes a matchup between two exciting welterweights, Carlos Prates and Geoff Neal, a fight that was rescheduled from April. In addition, the fan favorite in the middleweight division, Michael “Venom” Page, will face former title contender Jared Cannonier.
