Barcelona has officially announced the renewal of French defender Jules Koundé, extending his contract until June 30, 2030. The news, confirmed this Friday, ensures the player’s continuity at the Catalan club for a long period. Koundé, 26 years old, arrived at Barça in the summer of 2022 from Sevilla. His previous contract ended in 2027. The signing of the new contract will take place at an official event, with the presence of Joan Laporta, club president. This information was communicated through an official announcement. The news had already been anticipated by Koundé himself during the team’s tour of Asia at the end of July, where the player expressed his satisfaction with the renewal and the agreement reached.
Koundé has established himself as a key player in the team, playing 53 matches last season under the direction of German coach Hansi Flick. Although he has played as a right-back, the player considers himself a center-back. The French defender has won several titles with Barcelona, including two Spanish Super Cups, one Copa del Rey and two Leagues.The club and I had the same idea to continue.
