The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has decided not to renew the contract of the women’s national team coach, Montse Tomé. Tomé’s agreement expires on August 31st. The RFEF’s decision comes less than a month after Spain’s defeat in the 2025 European Championship final against England, decided by penalties. Spain was the favorite to win the competition for the first time in Switzerland, after easily reaching the final. However, they only converted one of their penalties in the final shootout, after a 1-1 draw after extra time. The RFEF has not yet named Tomé’s successor.
