NEW YORK – Venezuelan star second baseman José Altuve added another milestone to his brilliant Major League career by hitting his 250th home run.
This home run, achieved at Yankee Stadium, places him in an exclusive group of only 11 players who have reached this figure while playing half of their games in the middle infield.
Altuve’s hit, which silenced the boos from the crowd, came in the first inning against left-handed pitcher Max Fried. The solid hit to left field not only opened the scoring, but also propelled the Houston Astros to a 7-1 victory over the Yankees, successfully concluding a nine-game road trip.
