Maddy Siegrist Delays Return to Wings Due to Injury

Dallas Wings forward Maddy Siegrist will have to wait at least one more game for her return after a knee injury.

The Wings ruled out Siegrist for Friday night’s game against the Indiana Fever, a day after announcing that his 17-game absence, due to a right knee fracture, was about to end.

The match between the Wings and the Fever will be played at the home of the Dallas Mavericks. It will be the second time the Wings play at the American Airlines Center.

Dallas faced the Fever at the AAC at the end of June, losing 94-86, in a game in which Caitlin Clark was unable to play due to a groin injury. Clark has already recovered, but this encounter with the Wings will be the sixth consecutive game that Clark misses, after the current WNBA Rookie of the Year aggravated a groin injury.

Siegrist, the leading scorer in NCAA Division I ahead of Clark when she played at Villanova in 2022-23, was limited to 11 games in a rookie season plagued by injuries two years ago.

Siegrist averages 9.4 points and 5.2 rebounds in 11 games and achieved her only double-double of the season with 15 points and 11 rebounds in the game prior to her injury, an 81-65 loss to the Minnesota Lynx on June 8.
