Trout Connects HR and Reaches 1,000 RBIs with the Angels: Historic Milestone

A single hit was enough for Mike Trout to remember his impact on baseball. The Angels star hit a monumental home run to center field on Sunday, surpassing 1,000 career RBIs. This two-run homer contributed to the Los Angeles victory over the Seattle Mariners with a score of 4-1.

You need your teammates to get to the bases, and after the game, that was one of the things I pointed out. None of this is possible without my teammates. It’s been fun.

Now with 1,001 RBIs, another milestone is near for the three-time American League MVP. Trout reached 397 home runs with his hit in the fifth inning, which was estimated at 443 feet.

I couldn’t have planned it better, connecting a hit of that magnitude to center field. I am honored to be able to start my career here and play with him and see his evolution.

Trout has had difficulty staying on the field in recent years, with a bone contusion in his left knee that forced him to miss a month this year. He has played as a designated hitter since his return, after starting the season in right field. Despite batting only .200 with one home run in nine games since the All-Star break, he showed on Sunday that he can still perform after 1,598 games in 15 seasons.

Every time we talk about Mike, even 75% of Mike is better than most people who have played this game. He’s going to go through ups and downs like everyone else and his are more important because of who he is.

It was a day of feats for the Angels veterans, as Kyle Hendricks earned his 103rd victory allowing two hits in over six innings and Kenley Jansen pitched the ninth for his 465th save. Trout has 19 home runs, his most since hitting 40 in 2022. He also joined Garrett Anderson and Tim Salmon as the only players to record their first 1,000 RBIs exclusively with the Angels.

When the guys are here for so long and what they mean to the club, it’s pretty special to be in that group. They had incredible careers in the Angels uniform and when you’re in the same conversation with them, it’s pretty special.
