Breanna Stewart Avoids Serious Injury and Will Travel with the Team

New York Liberty star Breanna Stewart has avoided a significant injury after suffering a mishap to her right leg during Saturday night’s game, according to a source close to the situation. The All-Star player underwent imaging tests and no serious injury was detected, according to the source who spoke on condition of anonymity. Stewart will travel with the team on their upcoming four-game tour that will begin in Dallas on Monday night. Stewart left the game three and a half minutes into the match that the Liberty lost 101-99 against the Los Angeles Sparks. At that moment, she had scored three points and gotten a rebound. Stewart’s injury seemed to occur while running down the court. The player went to the locker room and did not return to the bench.

No news, let’s hope she’s doing well.

The game on Saturday was the second of a back-to-back for New York. In Friday’s victory against Phoenix, Stewart had a discreet performance with only six points, although he managed eight rebounds, five assists, two blocks and two steals. Before Saturday’s game, Stewart was averaging 19 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per season, contributing to New York (17-7) having the second-best record in the league. The two-time WNBA MVP had not missed any games this season. In addition to Stewart’s situation, New York is also facing other injuries. Kennedy Burke suffered cramps and Leonie Fiebich has been dealing with a hand injury she sustained against Phoenix.

She is tough and resilient, she overcame it.
