Sabres Avoid Salary Arbitration with Conor Timmins
The Buffalo Sabres have secured the continuity of defenseman Conor Timmins by signing a two-year, $4.4 million contract, thus avoiding a salary arbitration hearing. The agreement was finalized on Sunday, solidifying the roster for the upcoming season.
Timmins, 26, arrived to the Sabres in a trade that involved defenseman Isaac Beliveau and sent Connor Clifton to the Pittsburgh Penguins on June 28. This move marks Timmins’ fifth team in six NHL seasons, since he debuted in the league with Colorado in the 2019-20 season.
In the past season, Timmins achieved his best numbers to date, with three goals and 15 points in 68 games, split between Pittsburgh and Toronto. In total, he has six goals and 46 points in 159 games.
With Timmins’s signing, goaltender Devon Levi is the only restricted free agent without a contract for the Sabres.
