AIFF Denies False Requests from Guardiola and Xavi to Coach the Indian National Team
The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has issued an official statement denying the applications for the national team coach position that allegedly came from Pep Guardiola and Xavi. According to the director of the AIFF national team, the name of Xavi, former Barcelona coach, was on the list of candidates. However, his candidacy was ruled out due to its high cost.The AIFF evaluated a total of 170 applications for the coaching position, ultimately selecting three candidates. The applications attributed to Guardiola and Xavi were dismissed as false. Surprisingly, a request that purported to be from the current Manchester City coach, Pep Guardiola, was also received.“The AIFF received an email with requests from Spanish coaches Pep Guardiola and Xavi Hernández. The authenticity of their requests could not be confirmed, and it has since emerged that the email requests were not genuine,” the AIFF indicated.
