The Atlanta Falcons have secured the signing of wide receiver DJ Chark, according to his agent, Todd France.

Chark, who played only seven games last season due to a hip injury, has been a prominent figure in the past.

His best season was in 2019 with the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he achieved 73 receptions for 1,008 yards and eight touchdowns.

At 28 years old, Chark could bring depth to the Falcons’ receiving corps, an obvious need for the team.

Falcons wide receiver Darnell Mooney suffered a setback during Thursday’s practice while attempting to catch a pass from quarterback Michael Penix Jr. Although he was able to walk off the field on his own, he did not return to practice and the team has yet to offer information on the severity of his injury.

Mooney, who serves as the team’s second receiver behind Drake London, could leave a significant void.

Ray-Ray McCloud III, who completed the starting lineup as the third receiver last season, is expected to maintain that role in 2025.

Additionally, the Falcons have KhaDarel Hodge and Casey Washington, although the latter only had one reception last season.

Chark’s experience, with 51 starts in his career, adds speed and versatility to the team. His 4.34-second time in the 40-yard dash demonstrates his athletic ability.
