Tszyu Seeks Revenge Against Fundora in a Tension-Filled Rematch
Tim Tszyu vows to put Sebastian Fundora in his place and join his Hall of Fame father as a multiple-time boxing world champion. Although Fundora tries to downplay the animosity between both boxers, Tszyu is furious about the doubts of the American’s team about his integrity before the rematch for the world title in Las Vegas. Tszyu has maintained for 16 months that he fought Fundora for 10 bloody and half-blind rounds, after receiving an elbow from the “Towering Inferno” and suffering a ruptured artery in his head. Tszyu has been universally praised for his courage in boxing despite the potentially fatal injury. Fundora lit the fuse for an explosive rematch by stating last week, and then reaffirming it on Thursday, that he looked Tszyu directly in the eyes and could see the Sydney boxer fighting, from his point of view, without being affected.
“It’s not the belt. It’s Fundora,” Tszyu said at the official pre-fight press conference at the MGM Grand.

Tszyu is also seriously annoyed by the fact that Fundora denies that his nose was broken in the first round of the first battle in Las Vegas. The Nevada State Athletic Commission ordered Fundora not to fight for six months, but on Thursday, the 26-year-old boxer claimed there was no such break. “I don’t know why they are lying,” Tszyu said.“Belts come and go.
But to beat someone you have history with, the fact that it was my first defeat, to rewrite that history, that is the challenge.”

Despite Tszyu’s own horrific injury, the boxer’s son only lost the first fight of last year by split decision after one of the three judges awarded him the victory. “I still got the victory,” Fundora said on Thursday. “I still went home with two titles.” Living up to his reputation as an old-school boxer, Tszyu returned to the ring just six months later, only to suffer a brutal defeat to Russian Bakhram Murtazaliev in Florida last October. Tszyu can’t understand Fundora’s confidence. “He has a kind of arrogance now,” he told AAP when asked about his bravery. Tim Tszyu“It must be his father. It could be Sampson (Lewkowicz, Fundora’s agent). Who knows.
But we all saw it. He had blood gushing out, he was breathing through his mouth. These are facts”.

In another intricate subplot of his sequel, Fundora stripped Tszyu of his WBO belt after Fundora was knocked out by his compatriot Brian Mendoza, six months after Tszyu claimed the title with a resounding victory over Mendoza on the Gold Coast. “He’s been saying I have post-traumatic stress disorder,” Tszyu said. “But I feel that he has post-traumatic stress disorder because of what Mendoza did to him. I feel that he still thinks about it. “Being knocked out like that takes a little something out of you. “Although Bakhram (Murtazaliev) stopped me, I made sure to get up every time. “He didn’t get up. He was gone”.“His environment has changed. He’s walking around like Superman.
Relax, you’re not Superman”.
