INTEC celebrates its 73rd graduation with 945 new professionals ready to transform the country
The Santo Domingo Institute of Technology (INTEC) successfully concluded its seventy-third graduation ceremony, delivering 945 new professionals to society. The event, marked by academic excellence and innovation, featured a call from Rector Arturo Del Villar to the graduates to assume a leading role in generating positive change through the ethical use of their knowledge.

Vocation of service and perseverance
During the event, engineer Hugo Pérez Ovalles, founder of the construction company Therrestra, was the guest speaker. The businessman shared fundamental lessons about his professional journey, emphasizing that the path to success requires, above all, perseverance. “Life is a marathon, not a sprint,” he stated, urging young people to practice their profession with responsibility and a long-term vision.
Key promotion data
- Female participation: Women predominated in this graduating class with 597 female graduates compared to 348 men.
- Academic excellence: 20.5% of the class received honors, highlighting 95 Summa Cum Laude, 79 Magna Cum Laude, and 20 Cum Laude degrees.
- Diversity of areas: Social Sciences and Humanities led with 33.76% of the graduates, followed by Health Sciences and Engineering.
Academic milestones and new programs
This ceremony marked significant milestones for the academic institution, including the graduation of the first class of the Bachelor’s Degree in Social Communication and Digital Media. Likewise, five new doctors were invested in various areas, among them the first graduate of the Doctorate in Communication and Education in Virtual Environments.
The commitment to national education was also reflected in the awarding of degrees to 257 educators through master’s programs carried out in collaboration with INAFOCAM, focused on critical areas such as educational management, evaluation, and gender equality policies.
Diverse talent and social commitment
The graduating class stood out for its multicultural character, with graduates coming from 13 nations. In addition, the efforts of the participants of the Outstanding Students program (PIES) and the members of the Apollo 27 engineering team, who have stood out for their innovative projects during their university education, were recognized.
In the acceptance speech, students Elaine Mercedes Encarnación Batista and Camila Sofía Isa Ramírez, both with a perfect 4.00 academic index, reminded their peers that the degree obtained carries the responsibility of ensuring collective well-being, reaffirming that professional practice must always be a pillar for the integral development of the Dominican Republic.
