CONADIS organizes inclusion and services day for people with disabilities in Bonao
The National Council on Disability (CONADIS) has begun preparations for an important day of inclusion and services, which will be hosted at the facilities of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD) in the province of Monseñor Nouel.
With the aim of guaranteeing comprehensive care, a working meeting was held in the assembly hall of the Civil Government of Bonao. The meeting was led by Ivelisse Laureano, head of the CONADIS Territory Department, and Raúl Arcángeles Pérez Gómez, community liaison for the Central Cibao, who emphasized the need to create a collaborative agenda that facilitates access to fundamental rights for this sector of the population.
Strategic alliance between institutions
The initiative seeks effective coordination between various public entities and social organizations to centralize services in a single space. During the work session, the roadmap in which key actors will participate was defined, such as:
- Local mayoralties and the Supérate program.
- National Emergency and Security Attention System 9-1-1.
- National Council for the Elderly (CONAPE).
- Civil Defense and the General Directorate of Traffic and Land Transportation Safety (DIGESETT).
- Blind Persons Foundation and the Bonao Special School.
- Educational districts and local health centers.
This inter-institutional effort is fundamental to promoting equal opportunities and ensuring that people with disabilities in Monseñor Nouel receive dignified, coordinated, and efficient care.
CONADIS reported that this initial approach will serve as a base platform to structure the logistics and services that will be offered during the event at the UASD. This action reaffirms the institution’s commitment to breaking down barriers and fostering a more inclusive society throughout the national territory.
