Russian Embassy clarifies situation regarding Dominicans in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict
The Russian ambassador to the Dominican Republic, Alexey Victorovich Seredin, clarified this Monday that to date the diplomatic mission has not received any formal request or official documentation confirming the presence of Dominican citizens actively participating in the war conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
Seredin detailed that, although some communications have arrived via email, the data provided lacks the necessary precision to validate the identities of those allegedly involved. According to the diplomat, the lack of critical information is the main obstacle to advancing any investigation into the matter.
Insufficient information for identification
The Russian representative emphasized that diplomatic authorities require basic elements to proceed with a real verification. Among the missing data that prevent confirming the veracity of the reports, the ambassador highlighted:
- Full names of the individuals.
- Updated dates of birth.
- Photographic material or official identifications.
Due to the lack of these specifications, it is impossible for the embassy to determine the veracity of the information received or to establish direct contact with the citizens mentioned in the reports.
Individual case evaluation
The Russian authorities would have to analyze each case individually before making any decision regarding a possible return, always considering the individual situation and the will of those who, allegedly, would be linked to the conflict in defense of Russia.

Regarding the question about a possible arrangement for the return of Dominicans to national territory, Seredin reiterated that any process of this nature would depend on an exhaustive study of each individual’s personal circumstances, stressing that there is no generalized policy until each person’s situation is officially confirmed.
