UEFA Sanctions Arsenal Tivat: 10 Years Out for Match-Fixing

United States – UEFA has issued a strong verdict against Arsenal Tivat of Montenegro, following an investigation related to an alleged attempt to fix matches in the Conference League of the 2023-2024 season.

Severe Sanctions

The governing body of European football has imposed a series of significant sanctions. These include the exclusion of Arsenal Tivat from all European competitions for the next ten years, a financial penalty of 500,000 euros, and a lifetime ban for several individuals involved. The decision came after an investigation and disciplinary proceedings in relation to alleged violations of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations, specifically in the match against Alashkert of Armenia in July 2023. The UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body (CEDB) made the decision after analyzing the case.

Sanctions Details

Among the personal sanctions, which prevent individuals from any activity related to football for life, are player Nikola Celebic and coach Ranko Krgovic.

Additionally, disqualification sanctions were imposed for a period of time on other team members and coaching staff:

The UEFA has requested FIFA to extend these sanctions worldwide.
