Investigation into Lamine Yamal for Birthday Party
The Spanish Ministry of Social Rights has requested an investigation into possible violations of disability laws at the 18th birthday party of Barcelona star Lamine Yamal. The request stems from allegations that people with dwarfism were hired as entertainers for the event. The Ministry has asked the Prosecutor’s Office, the Ombudsman, and the Office for Combating Hate Crimes to investigate whether laws prohibiting shows that mock or denigrate people with disabilities were violated during the celebration. Yamal turned 18 on July 13th and celebrated his birthday with a private party outside of Barcelona last Saturday. Although guests were not allowed to record with their phones, videos circulating on social media showed people with dwarfism arriving at the party venue. On Sunday, after the images appeared, the Association of People with Achondroplasia and Other Skeletal Dysplasias with Dwarfism (ADEE) in Spain condemned “the hiring of people with dwarfism as entertainers”.- Upcoming LaLiga 2025-26 matches: The most important matches and dates of the Clásicos.
