UASD promotes academic excellence with the 2026-2030 management workshop
The Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD) has formally begun the path toward the 2026-2030 period with the holding of the workshop course titled “Sensitization and initiation of university management.” This training session was designed to guide the new academic authorities under the values of innovation, excellence, and tangible results for the institution.
The event, held in the High Technology Building of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, was led by the rector, Dr. Jorge Asjana David. During his speech, he presented the strategic axes that will mark his administration, focused on a vision of profound transformation, modernization, and institutional strengthening that seeks to position the ‘Primada de América’ as an indisputable benchmark in higher education.
Pillars of a new university vision
The authorities present ratified their commitment to the well-being of the university community and the constant improvement of teaching quality. To achieve these objectives, the administration has outlined a roadmap that includes the following fundamental pillars:
- Internationalization of academic programs.
- Comprehensive institutional modernization.
- Promotion of research and innovation.
- Digital transformation of processes.
- Unavoidable commitment to social responsibility.
Institutional transformation will be the result of collective effort.

Rector Asjana David emphasized that the success of this management period will depend on the capacity for coordinated work between the different levels of command. According to the academic, the future of the university depends on a shared vision and the alignment of its curricula and research with the priorities established in the National Development Strategy.
Authorities committed to the future
The meeting was attended by key figures of the university administration, including Vice Rectors Rosel Fernández (Academic), Juana Encarnación (Research and Postgraduate Studies), Antonio Ciriaco (Administrative), and Gerardo Roa (Extension). Also present was Professor Petronila Dotel Matos, Director of the School for the Updating and Improvement of Teaching and Administrative Staff, reaffirming the academy’s interest in strengthening its internal capabilities to face the challenges of the 21st century.
