Dan Iassogna to Head Umpiring Crew for All-Star Game
The Major League Baseball (MLB) announced that Dan Iassogna will be the crew chief and will be behind the plate during Tuesday night’s All-Star Game at Truist Park in Atlanta.
Iassogna’s team will be composed of Marvin Hudson at first base, Chris Segal at second, Jansen Visconti at third, Jeremie Rehak in left field, and Erich Bacchus in right field.
This will be the second time that Iassogna, 56, will participate in an All-Star Game, having been at third base during the 2011 game in Arizona.
Iassogna debuted in the Major Leagues in 1999, was hired by MLB staff in 2004, and named crew chief before the 2020 season. He has been an umpire in the World Series in 2012, 2017, and 2022, as well as eight League Championship Series and seven Division Series.
For Segal, Visconti, Rehak and Bacchus, it will be their first All-Star Game, while Hudson will participate for the second time, after having been in left field in 2004 in Houston.
Tony Randazzo will be the replay official in New York.
