Alofoke Deportes presents the current outlook of the foreign exchange market in the Dominican Republic. According to official data published by the Central Bank, the US currency maintains a dynamic of technical adjustments in the country’s various financial segments for this Monday, September 7.

Behavior in the financial system

In the financial sector, the US currency stands at an average purchase rate of RD$57.23, while the selling price reaches RD$59.70. When performing a comparative exercise with the previous month, where the values were at RD$56.88 for purchase and RD$59.61 for sale, a percentage adjustment of -0.60% and -0.14% is observed, respectively.

Figures on Remittance and Exchange Agents

On the other hand, Remittance and Exchange Agents reported the following figures for today’s session:

  • Average purchase: RD$58.47
  • Average sale: RD$59.48

Comparing these figures with the record from 30 days ago, when the market was operating with an average purchase of RD$58.04 and a sale of RD$58.91, variations of -0.74% in the acquisition and -0.95% in the placement of the currency have been detected.

The over-the-counter exchange market has shown extremely stable behavior during the current week, recording marginal fluctuations both on a daily and monthly basis.

Although stability has been the predominant note in the short term, experts point out that when contrasting these indicators with the close of the year 2025 and the previous period, more relevant variations in the behavior of the US dollar against the Dominican peso are evident.
