London – Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner was seen training this Wednesday with a protection on his right elbow. This area of the body suffered discomfort during the round of 16 match against Grigor Dimitrov.

The world number one, after undergoing medical tests on Tuesday and training on a private court, chose to use this protection before his quarter-final match against Ben Shelton, scheduled for this Wednesday.

Sinner, who has not yet surpassed the semi-final stage at Wimbledon, spent 50 minutes training on the Aorangi courts, against a left-handed player, just like his next opponent, Shelton.

During his training, the tennis player practiced all the strokes, including exchanges from the baseline, volleys, returns, and serves, without overexerting himself, as is usual in a warm-up.

His coach, Darren Cahill, offered reassuring statements to the public on Tuesday, in an interview where he confirmed that Sinner is in good shape, although he admitted a slight decrease in the speed of his forehand.
