Snell and Treinen Progress in Their Recovery for the Dodgers
Pitchers Blake Snell and Blake Treinen are progressing in their recovery and are nearing their return with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Both players faced batters on Saturday, with Snell pitching for two innings. They are expected to be able to start a rehabilitation assignment after the All-Star break. Snell, 32, has played in two games for the Dodgers after signing a five-year, $182 million free agent contract. Previously, he played last season with the San Francisco Giants and three previous seasons with the San Diego Padres. Snell is a two-time Cy Young Award winner. The Dodgers’ starting rotation has been prone to injuries this season, but is getting a boost from Shohei Ohtani, the two-way superstar who is working as a starter in his return from elbow surgery. Treinen is looking to return to his role in the final part of the bullpen. He pitched one inning on Saturday.(Snell) looked good. Really good. I don’t know what the velocity was, but the ball was coming out really well. He used his full array of pitches. I thought the delivery was clean, precise, so it was a very positive day.

I thought Blake Treinen was also very good. Both players should be ready sometime shortly after the All-Star break.
