Alleged control by drug lord reported at Las Parras penitentiary center

Communicator Ramón Tolentino has exposed a worrying situation at the Las Parras Correction and Rehabilitation Center, pointing out that the facility is under the control of an inmate identified as Álvaro Arboleda, known by the alias “El Jurón”. According to information presented on Alofoke Deportes, this individual is allegedly the main person responsible for a recent riot that left more than 12 people injured.

The complaint goes beyond an isolated incident, warning about the possible planning of a second revolt and the risk of escape of at least three inmates. Tolentino questioned the lack of internal control, highlighting that the penitentiary system has allowed the criminal structures of the old La Victoria prison to be transferred entirely to the new facilities.

Illicit businesses and lack of security

One of the critical points highlighted is the persistent use of internet-enabled cell phones within the prison. According to the report, these devices are sold at prices ranging from 50,000 to 150,000 pesos, depending on the services contracted. The journalist emphasized that institutional measures, such as the suspension of personnel following the leak of videos, have proven insufficient in the face of the magnitude of operational corruption.

When they are moving people from La Victoria to Las Parras, those people are taking their businesses with them and setting them up in the new facility. The transfer did not eliminate the power structures, but rather transplanted them.

Details of the mutiny and chain of command

According to the information gathered, the confrontation originated in block C-10, an area that reportedly operates as Arboleda’s command center. The conflict allegedly arose when the dominant group attempted to block the entry of illicit substances outside their distribution network, triggering a violent clash. Tolentino also denounced an alleged informal chain of command that would have the consent of deputy directors and managers of specific modules within the prison.

  • Alleged complicity: The participation of security personnel in the entry of prohibited items is pointed out.
  • Imminent risk: There is information regarding the possible presence of firearms within the facility.
  • Demand for measures: The direct intervention of the Attorney General’s Office has been requested to dismiss the administrative officials of Las Parras.

Finally, the communicator made an urgent call to the Executive Branch to take immediate corrective measures. The situation in Las Parras, according to Tolentino, requires a forceful intervention before another episode of violence occurs that we might regret, urging the authorities to clarify the administrative management of the penitentiary center.
